  • Where are you located?
    We are an online bakery located in Blythewood, SC. We are a licensed home-based food product operation, Our location is not open to the public.
  • What are your business hours?
    Our hours are Tuesday through Friday from 3 pm to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.
  • Can I just stop by to purchase some of your products?
    Sorry to disappoint, but we are not an online bakery. The Cake Obsession is a home-based food product operation. We operate by appointment only. Any items we produce are made to order.
  • How do I inquire or place an order?
    Please complete and submit our contact form. We will respond to you within 48 to 72 hours to provide a quote or to set up a design appointment. (Check your spam folder if you do not receive a response from us within 72 hours.)
  • Do you need advance notice to place an order?
    Yes. Advance notice is required so we can prioritize and provide the necessary amount of time needed for each unique design. We require at least three weeks advance notice for all orders.
  • Is there a minimum order requirement?
    Minimum order requirements are as follows: Celebrations Cakes - $150 minimum Cupcakes Standard - two dozen (one flavor per two dozen) Mini/Midi - four dozen (one flavor per two dozen) Alcohol infused - one dozen (one flavor per dozen) Cookies Custom/Decorated - two dozen Gourmet cookies - two dozen Weddings Cakes - $375 minimum Cupcakes - four dozen (one flavor per 2 dozen) Cookies - four dozen
  • Can I choose more than one cake flavor for my cake?
    You may choose one flavor per tier of cake.
  • Do you make "smash" cakes? How much are they?"
    Yes, we offer smash cakes (6" round, 2 layers of cake). Smash cakes start at $65. Smash cakes can only be purchased as an add on to a cake order.
  • Can I pick up my cake?
    Yes. Order collection is available for single-tier and small two-tier cakes. We highly recommend all other cake sizes for delivery so they arrive and are setup safely and without hassle to you and your guests. Celebration order collection times are established at the time the order is placed. Collection times are Tuesday - Saturday by appointment only. Should you or a designee pick up your cake, you must sign our self-transport waiver releasing us of any responsibility for damages that might occur. Please be on time to collect your order. You have a 15-minute window to pick up your order. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee we will remain at the location outside of your collection window. A fee of $30 will be applied every fifteen minutes beyond your collection window. Late fees must be paid to collect your order. If you are early, you must wait until the agreed-upon time to collect your order.
  • Do you provide delivery? How much does it cost?
    Yes. Delivery charges are based on mileage and time. The minimum delivery charge is $50.00.
  • Do you ship?
    No. We are a licensed bakery that operates under SC Cottage Food laws. SC Cottage Food laws do not permit shipping for baked goods that are processed and prepared in a home-based food product operation.
  • What if I need to change my date or cancel my order?
    If, for any reason, you need to revise your occasion date, our bakery will try our best to accommodate these changes at no additional cost, provided sufficient notice and the new occasion date is available. Our bakery will do our best to accommodate your order, but we CANNOT GUARANTEE the availability. The booking fee will not be refunded if our bakery is fully booked for your new occasion date. Please bear this in mind when ordering; any monies paid are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
  • Do you cater for people with allergies or other sensitivities?
    We use a kitchen that handles nuts, tree nut products, eggs, soy, dairy, sugar and gluten. We consistently practice best food handling policies, but we also use products that may have been manufactured in factories that may contain those allergens. The Cake Obsession is not recommended for those with severe allergies or sensitivities to nut, tree nut products, eggs, soy, dairy, sugar and gluten.
  • Should I keep my cake refrigerated?
    We suggest refrigerating cakes up to 2 hours before they are served. Set cakes out on a flat, sturdy surface to bring it to room temperature. Our cakes can sit out in a cool air conditioned room, away from direct sunlight or light, for up to 3 hours. Whipped cream cakes and cakes with fruit fillings should be kept refrigerated.
  • Can anyone book a cake tasting consultation?
    Yes! Our cake tasting kits provide a sample of the quality of our delicious cakes! While we will make every effort to provide you with a great selection of the cakes you would like to try, we are limited to our popular flavors and those recently ordered. We permit our clients to request three flavors they want to sample during their consultation. Cake tasting kits are available once a month. The cake tasting kit includes six cake flavors, six buttercream flavors, and two fillings. The cake is served deconstructed, so you can mix and match cake flavors, buttercream, and fillings to create the perfect flavor combination. Consultations are by appointment only and are available on Sunday afternoons from 2 pm to 5 pm. You will meet with us via video call to discuss your event and start the design process. Cake tastings are $70.00* (2-person limit). Want a friend or family member to taste the cake as well? No problem! We can provide additional servings for your kit for a fee of $25.00 per serving.
  • Will you make this EXACT cake?
    Custom cakes are a work of art; therefore, any items ordered from a picture or photo of an item produced elsewhere will be reproduced as The Twisted Baker's interpretation of the item and will not be a replica. We aim to take design elements you like and create something one-of-a-kind, especially for you!
  • Do you offer cake cutting service?
    Cake cutting service is available for wedding cakes only, depending on availability. The cost will vary depending on the number of servings.
  • Can I pick up my wedding cake?

  • I want only fresh flowers on my cake - will you arrange them or does my florist do that?
    We do not supply fresh flowers for cakes. Fresh flowers are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. Please note that some flowers as not suitable for use on cakes. It is your responsibility to determine flower safety and safe food practice. If we do need to arrange flowers on your wedding, we must be informed at the time the order is placed. Additional fees are applicable.
  • Can my cake match my wedding colors?
    For color matching, we ask that you provide a swatch of the shade you would like. The Cake Obsession will do its best to match any color requests for icings. We aim for a perfect match, but this is not always possible. We will do our best to color match (within 3 shades darker or lighter) samples that are given to us, but please keep in mind that we are working with a food product and edible colors. Light vastly affects colors, and we cannot guarantee exact color matches or color stability. Cakes should be displayed out of direct sunlight to keep colors from fading out. Please be advised that dark colors sometimes taste slightly bitter or stain.
